"Game of Thrones" writer Dave Hill is not only working in the world of Westeros, he has been handpicked by Warner Bros to write the script for their new "Merlin" film. Hill is teaming up with "Hanna" screenwriter David Farr, to produce a script that may be an adaption of T.A. Barron's young adult series "The Lost Years of Merlin."

Hill, who has served as a writer and production assistant to series creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, will certainly have little trouble creating a fantasy world filled with magic, dragons, and monsters. Although, he may have to adjust his thirst for blood as the project is rumored to be focused with more of a family angle.

The film is reportedly to be the story of the origins of Merlin; it will tell the story of how the young wizard hones his unique powers after washing ashore in Wales. Warner Bros. is hoping that Merlin will be their next family-friendly fantasy hit, garnering a similar audience that made "Harry Potter" a box-office sensation.

And while it remains to be seen if the audience will fall in love with the story of Merlin's life, Warner Bros. plans to tell the full tory from his youth all the way to his prominent role of wizard in King Arthur's court.

Unfortunately for fans of BBC One's "Merlin" this script will be an entirely different Merlin story. And while there are a number of Merlin stories, Hill and Farr are two writers who can create a new exciting and mystical world of the notorious wizard that we have not yet seen.
