A federal judge in Missouri sentenced Edward Bagley Sr. to 20 years in prison for the brutal rape and torture of an underaged girl identified only as FV or "female victim." In January 2013, Bagley pled guilty to one of 11 charges he faced for keeping a minor against her will and having a sexual relationship with a minor. The girl was held captive in Bagley's Lebanon, Missouri home from December 2002 until February 27, 2009. There may not be a word in the English language that describes what the runaway teen was inflicted with when she came upon Bagley and his wife. Torture is putting it mildly.
For the seven years FV was held by Bagley she was beaten, raped, hung upside down, water boarded, abused in front of an audience and even had her vagina sewn shut. In order to keep FV in-line, CNN reports that Bagley would often shoot and kill animals that the girl became attached to, right in front of her eyes. The abuse FV suffered was often for an audience that would pay anything from cash to ground meat in order to see the teenage girl "strangled, electrocuted and pierced with needles."
The indictment against Bagley read: "In or about December 2002, [Bagley] invited FV, a 16-year-old minor, who grew up in foster care homes, into his residence after she ran away from home and promised her 'a great life,' including, but not limited to, making her a model and a dancer, and 'making her dreams come true. [Bagley] advertised and publicized FV over the Internet and in live web cam sessions as his slave who would engage in sexual acts and could be tortured during live online sessions, or in person."
The indictment continued by saying once FV turned 18 she was forced to sign a "sex slave contract" which bound the girl to Bagley for a "never ending" term. Other accusations made in the indictment say that Bagley performed many involuntary abortions on FV over the years using things like a vacuum cleaner and a wire hanger. There are another five defendants including Bagley's wife, Marilyn Bagley who are currently awaiting sentencing. The other defendants are facing criminal conspiracy charges. They have also pled guilty to "conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion."
FV was able to escape in 2009 after she was hospitalized following a torture session. Lawyers for FV are seeking a large settlement of $738,250 for the "physical and psychological trauma" inflicted upon their client.
