"Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" premieres tonight on ABC and we are expecting something great! The show is based on the Marvel comics created organization S.H.I.E.L.D, which was first introduced in “Iron Man” as the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. The series will revolve around the character of Phil Coulson, with actor Clark Gregg reprising the role. Coulson puts together a small team of SHIELD agents, who must handle a set of strange and villainous new cases. The cases will put the freshly assembled SHIELD team through tests in cooperation and skill as they attempt to work together to control and detain new criminal superhuman individuals.

The inclusion of Coulson initially shocked fans of Marvel after believing they had witnessed his heroic death in “Marvel’s The Avengers.” Coulson dies at the hands of Thor’s evil brother Loki, but at the 2013 South by Southwest festival show runner Joss Whedon confirmed that Coulson had somehow survived. Discussing his characters miraculous return from the dead, Gregg stated "When Joss described to me the mystery...and the complexity and the unanswered questions about Phil Coulson standing there trying to deal with this, I found it so fascinating and so true to the world of the comics and mythology in general as I understand them that I was immediately in."

The premiere episode will have the team investigate an emerging and mysterious group called the Rising Tide. During their investigations, Agent Coulson and the other “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” meet Mike Peterson, who was a seemingly ordinary man who awoke with astonishing superhuman powers. The premiere episode debuts tonight, Sept. 24, on ABC at 8 p.m. And if you can’t catch it on your TV, be sure to check out the online live stream available HERE through Hulu Plus!
