The nominations for the 2013 American Music Awards were announced this morning on ABC's "Good Morning America" by Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am. The first five categories were announced live on the morning show which included, Favorite Female Artist, Pop or Rock, Favorite Male Artist, Soul/R&B, New Artist Of The Year, Single Of The Year and Artist Of The Year. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis scored nominations in the last two categories presented. Other acts nominated for the top award of the night include Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake, who all scored multiple nominations in the different categories. Directioners don't fret as the boys scored two nominations this year in the Favorite Band, Duo or Group, Pop or Rock category and for Favorite Album, Pop or Rock for their "Take Me Home" album. Latinos are present in the nominees and Marc Anthony, Prince Royce and Romeo Santos will fight for the Favorite Latin Artist award.
After having such a controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus will be back in the spotlight for the AMAs as she has been confirmed as a performer. Will she have everyone talking again? Imagine Dragons is also set to perform at this year's show and more performers will be announced in the coming weeks. The 2013 American Music Awards will air live on Sunday, November 24 on ABC.
