One of the most iconic comic characters ever created is Superman and this year's New York Comic Con will celebrate it with the "Superman 75th Celebration" panel. "As the most recognizable superhero in the world, Superman has flown high in film, TV, radio, animation, video games and, of course, comics for 75 glorious years," the description of the event reads. "Join a star-studded panel covering the gamut of Supes’ incarnations as they discuss the beloved character’s many personifications, impressive history and ongoing relevance within society and entertainment. You won’t want to miss the World Premiere of a special 75th Anniversary animated short created by 'Man of Steel' director Zack Snyder and 'Superman: The Animated Series.'" The panel and preview will take place Saturday, October 12 on the Main Stage 1-D starting at 12:15pm ET. Guests at the event include, Producer Bruce Timm, who will present the short to the viewing public, DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan Didio and Mike Carlin, Creative Director/Animation, DC Entertainment will anchor the panel. “Warner Bros. is privileged to be home to the global Superman brand, which has had an unparalleled impact on popular culture for 75 years,” Warners CEO Kevin Tsujihara told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year at the unveiling of the Superman anniversary logo. “We are proud to commemorate this milestone with exciting entertainment across the entire studio and across the globe, ensuring this enduring icon reaches new generations of audiences." Details of the short have been kept under wraps but insiders revealed to the publication that Snyder had envisioned one continuous shot that paid homage to every stage of the Man of Steel's history. The short will include Max Fleischer's animated series, the films done by George Reeves and Christopher Reeve with everything ending with Henry Cavill's interpretation of the superhero.
