Two months after being slapped with a murder charge in the shooting death of semiprofessional football player Odin Lloyd, former University of Florida and New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez learned that he is now being investigated for possible gun trafficking. The 23-year-old Connecticut native -- who played his way onto the 2011 AFC Pro Bowl team -- was initially arrested in June, just days after Odin Lloyd was killed execution style in a North Attleborough, Massachusetts park not far from the home of Hernandez.

The former tight end is said to have been with two other individuals the night Odin Lloyd was murdered. Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz -- friends of Aaron Hernandez -- picked Lloyd up on the night of the murder in a rental car, which is a significant piece of information considering the new investigation focusing on Hernandez. According to CNN, Hernandez is being investigated for gun trafficking by the same Massachusetts grand jury that hit him with the murder charge. Investigators say weapons were illegally moved across state lines with an assault rifle found in a motor vehicle originally registered to Florida and later found in Massachusetts.

In addition to this latest investigation surrounding the disgraced NFL star, ABC News reported that current Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey was hit with a grand jury subpoena following Miami's recent loss to the New England Patriots. The subpoena is in direct relation to the investigation for gun trafficking, a situation taken on by investigators in Massachusetts, New York and Florida, according to Sports Illustrated. Pouncey and Aaron Hernandez were teammates at the University of Florida and even though the 24-year-old center was slapped with the piece of paper, his involvement with the ongoing situation remains unknown.

Police are however interested in digging up more information about transactions that took place between Pouncey and Hernandez.

Along with a murder charge in the Odin Lloyd case and the aforementioned gun trafficking investigation, Aaron Hernandez is also being investigated by a different grand jury for his possible involvement in an unsolved double homicide that took place last year in Boston.
