It seems Red is tired and finally done playing by the rules. In the upcoming “The Blacklist” Season 6 Episode 10, he will finally be out of prison.

But Red’s departure from prison won’t likely be the result of him being officially released. While the jury seems sufficiently convinced of the audio recording of the conversation between Katarina Rostova and the now deceased former national intelligence director Alan Fitch, the released promo for the upcoming episode seems to suggest that the recording might not be enough to set Reddington free. As a result, he will be forced to make his own move.

In the trailer, Red can be heard saying, “There’s been a change of plans.” He then proceeded to drug the person he was talking to. Later, a disguised Red, complete with a fake beard and a hat, is seen walking through what appears to be the corridors of the prison while saying “I’m leaving prison.”

The prison’s alarm sounds off a few seconds later, and a team of prison guards is quickly mobilized, probably in a bid to halt Red’s attempt to escape. However, Red appears to be unusually calm as if all the commotion had nothing to do with him as he walks slowly to the facility’s perimeter walls. Given his formidable skills, it is probably safe to assume that he will successfully break prison.

But the excitement does not end there. What’s even more interesting is what exactly he will do after going out. Thankfully, the brief synopsis of “The Blacklist” Season 6 Episode 10 offers some clue as to its plot.

“The Task Force delves into the unregulated world of cryptocurrency in order to stop an impending attack, while Red undertakes a risky endeavor in order to secure his freedom,” the synopsis reads. The upcoming episode is titled “The Cryptobanker” and will air on March 8.

Just how is this crypto banker connected to Red’s mysterious activities? A clue might be gleaned from some of the claims made by cryptocurrency critics who expressed fears that these digital coins might be used to finance terrorist activities. It is even more interesting to see just how the show’s writers would handle the topic, considering that cryptocurrency is not exactly the most explored topic around.
