“The Blacklist” fans will be in for a double treat this Friday. That’s because NBC will air not only one but two segments this week, both episodes 18 and 19, respectively titled “The Brockton College Killer” and “Rassvet.” The two episodes will be shown in a two-hour event.

What’s even more exciting is that this Friday’s episodes might finally shed some light on one of the show’s most enigmatic characters, Katarina Rostova. In fact, it is now confirmed that Dutch actress Lotte Verbeek, who plays Katarina in the series, will appear in one of the episodes.

And it seems that fans have to thank Ressler for his relentless investigation. Apparently, Ressler’s sleuthing will finally bear some fruit as he will finally uncover Rostova’s past in “The Brockton College Killer.”

“When a frozen corpse is discovered in the woods, the Task Force is drawn into the investigation of an old case that has gained notoriety due to a popular true crime podcast. Meanwhile, Red visits Dom Wilkinson (guest star Brian Dennehy) for help making a difficult decision, and Ressler makes a discovery about Katarina Rostova's past,” episode 18’s synopsis states.

While “The Brockton College Killer” did specifically say that Katarina will show up, Liz’s mom will definitely make an appearance in episode 19. More exciting still is that according to some spoilers for “The Blacklist” Season 6, Katarina’s connection to Reddington might finally be revealed in this segment.

“Alone in a foreign country after a mission goes catastrophically wrong, Katarina Rostova (guest star Lotte Verbeek) goes on the run to avoid the forces trying to hunt her down. Isolated and out of options, she seeks out the only person she trusts, a man who has vowed to always protect her. Gabriel Mann and Brian Dennehy also guest star,” episode 19’s synopsis states.

Speculations are now saying that there’s a good chance that this man that Katarina trusts might actually be Red. The clue is the presence of actor Gabriel Mann as a guest star. Mann bears a striking resemblance to James Spader, which could mean that he might be playing the young Reddington.
