BTS has just proven that true friendships can exist even in the crowded world of K-Pop. Earlier this week, BTS member Jimin congratulated former Wanna One member Sungwoon for his new music video “Bird,” and fans couldn’t help but admire him for the adorable gesture.

On Twitter, Jimin congratulated Sungwoon for his new achievement and even shared the “Bird” music video to his more than 18 million followers. “I’ll support you too, hyung,” Jimin said in his tweet. “You worked really hard.”

Jimin’s friendship with Sungwoon is not something that is new to K-Pop fans. When Sungwoon was still a member of Wanna One, Jimin attended the group’s final concert and fans spotted him singing along with the crowd. On Feb. 5, the two also shared some snaps from their recent trip as they welcomed the New Year together.

Since the release of Sungwoon’s new music video, “Bird” has been doing well in streaming numbers. Fans attribute the early success of the release to Jimin, who has been actively promoting his friend’s new project.

Before launching his career as a solo artist, Sungwoon was a member of the now disbanded Wanna One. This group was formed during the second season of the Korean reality show “Produce 101” and had 11 members in total.

When Swing Entertainment officially announced the disbandment of the group back in January, the agency explained that the group was not really meant to be forever. Two months since the members of the Wanna One group went their separate ways, each of them has soared high with their own solo careers.

Meanwhile, Jimin’s group BTS continues to conquer the international entertainment scene. On Wednesday, the K-Pop group was named among the Top 10 Global Recording Artists of 2018 by the International Federation of Phonographic Industry (IFPI). The group emerged as the second best-selling artist of 2018, second only to Drake. Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Queen, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons and Post Malone also made it to the list.

According to IFPI, BTS got the second spot because of the success of their 2018 albums “Love Yourself: Tear” and “Love Yourself: Answer.” Since their formation in 2013, the group has established a strong global fan base known as the ARMY and has been instrumental in bringing K-Pop to the global stage.
