Brazil is mourning the death of Caio César Ignácio Cardoso de Melo, a young man known in the country for being a voiceover talent. Aside his acting job, Caio was also a policeman and was killed while on duty. The Brazilian died at the age of 27, after he was shot Thursday during an "exchange of gunfire in Complexo de Alemão – one of Rio’s largest and most policed shanty towns," reports The Guardian.

According to local authorities, the father of one was shot in the neck when officers came under fire during a routine patrol of the sprawling shanty town. He later died of his injuries in the hospital. The talented young man was mainly known for voicing Harry Potter in all eight films of the series. Other voiceover gigs included Diego Bustamante (portrayed by Christopher Uckermann) in "Rebelde," Sokka in "Avatar" and much more.

Friends and colleagues expressed sympathy messages on social media, including renowned author J.K. Rowling, who stated the following: "Desperately sad to hear that Caio César, Brazilian voice of Harry Potter, has died at the age of 27. My thoughts are with his family."
