People love to read A-list celebrities feuding with each other, which was the case with Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie, which was recently cleared in an interview. Theron, however, allegedly landed herself a new adversary with another A-list actress, Julia Roberts.
Theron recently found herself dismissing rumors surrounding her and fellow actress Jolie. In an interview at “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Theron answered a fan-submitted question regarding the alleged dispute.
The “Long Shot” actress admitted that she and Jolie are not really friends and do not know each other. Theron has seen Jolie in events and honestly described Jolie as gracious and warm.
“We have always ... I don’t know her very well,” Theron stated. “I know her from events but she's always been so lovely. We really don’t know each other. We are not friends or hang out, but she has never been nothing but gracious and lovely and warm,” Theron continued.
The actresses were pitted against each other after news surfaced that Theron's ex-lover, Sean Penn, introduced Theron to Brad Pitt, Jolie's ex-husband. The rumor claimed that Pitt and Theron were romantically involved earlier this year.
But the Theron–Jolie feud speculations began even before the Pitt–Theron dating rumors. Some sources say that Theron and Jolie have previously clashed over movie roles, including “Bride Of Frankenstein” (2019) and “Murder On The Orient Express” (2017).
While Theron has finally settled the score between her and Jolie, the “Aeon Flux” actress seemed to have attracted another enemy, at least according to tabloid rumors. In an interview, Theron told Sydney Morning Herald how she feels about the romantic comedy genre and why “Long Shot” was an exception.
“I just never saw myself as Julia Roberts, the rom-com person, and I didn’t see what I could bring to those roles anyway,” was Theron’s exact words to the publication. The statement allegedly demeans Julia Roberts’ roles in romantic comedy films. The publication added that Roberts called Theron rude and disrespectful.
Gossip Cop, however, debunked the rumors. Someone close to Roberts assured the fact-checking publication that Roberts did not take Theron’s statement negatively. To set things straight, the Jolie–Theron and Roberts–Theron feuds are both false.
