The death of Roberto Gómez Bolaños "Chespirito" has taken the world by surprise. Even though he was delicate since April when he scared us with a heart problem, nobody expected that one day after Thanksgiving he would suddenly die from a heart attack. The incident happened at noon in Cancun, Mexico, and it was confirmed on-air to journalist Lolita Ayala by a close member of the family.

During the last two decades, Gómez Bolaños had several problems with the cast members of the "Chespirito" show, mainly María Antonieta de las Nieves 'La Chilindrina' and Carlos Villagrán 'Quico', who complained about his ego, and accused his wife, Florinda Meza -who was also part of the cast- of being the 'Yoko Ono' of the once happy gang.

Nevertheless, 'La Chilindrina' was one of the first ones to comment about his death, and so did Rubén Aguirre 'El Profesor Jirafales' and Édgar Vivar 'El Señor Barriga.' While we are still waiting for comments from Florinda Meza and Villagrán, other close people to him like Televisa's CEO Emilio Azcárraga has expressed his condolences. So did Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto, who also grew watching his shows.

We are also waiting for reactions from the people that worked with Florinda Meza in her three telenovelas ('Milagro y Magia, ' 'Alguna Vez Tendremos Alas' and 'La Dueña' --which starred Peña's Nieto wife, Angélica Rivera). The rest of the 'Chespirito' cast has already passed away: Angelines Fernández ('La Bruja del 71'), Horacio Gómez (his brother in real life and who played 'Godínez'), Ramón Valdez (Don Ramón) and Raúl 'Chato' Padilla (Jaimito 'El Cartero').
