CHICAGO – Looks can be deceiving. At least that’s what we learned on Sunday at Soldier Field. The Chicago Bears looked like the better team going into this game against the Miami Dolphins, but it was the Dolphins who looked like the home team in Chicago, dominating the Bears in all facets of the game, 27-14.

Ryan Tannehill, not known for his quickness, looked like an NFL running back at times as he rushed six times for 48 yards including this (video below) huge run on 4th and 1 late in the third quarter to catch the Bears defense by surprise. Tannehill was also impressive in the air, throwing for 277 yards and two touchdowns on the day.

The Bears are now 0-3 at home in Soldier Field for the first time in 10 years. Shockingly the Bears are 3-1 on the road, which is the only thing keeping them in the NFC North division race at this point in the season. Matt Forte was the lone bright spot for the Bears on the day as he scored two touchdowns.

Bears quarterback, Jay Cutler, looked lackluster at home again, throwing a brutal interception late in the 4th quarter on a pass that was nowhere near its intended receiver. Chicago is now 0-4 when Cutler throws at least one interception. His performance at home was nowhere near his stellar performance last week in Atlanta when he threw for 381 yards. Cutler only threw for 190 yards on Sunday.

Miami won despite not having their Latino stars on the field. All-pro, Puerto Rican running back Knowshon Moreno, was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week with a torn ACL in his knee, and backup quarterback, Matt Moore, who is Mexican-American, never saw the field on Sunday because of the efficient and stellar play of Tannehill.

Miami got off to a bad start as Tannehill was sacked by Bears defensive end, Jeremiah Ratliff, to start the game. The Dolphins would rebound offensively, scoring 14 unanswered points and dominating the Bears with 209 yards at halftime to Chicago’s 54. However, the Dolphins had no answer for Ratliff, as he finished with a career best 3 ½ sacks on the day.

The Bears will look to continue their strong play on the road as they travel to New England next week to take on Tom Brady and the Patriots. The Dolphins in the meantime, will head to Jacksonville where the Jaguars are coming off of their first win of the season 24-6 against the Cleveland Browns.
