The latest Apple iOS 8.3 update features a lot of new features, enhancements, and patches, including a fun diversity of new emojis, new language support for Siri, new Wireless CarPlay functions, and new fixes to Safari.

However, the iOS 8.3 unfortunately possesses an irritating bug that affects Touch ID. According to threads from Apple Support Communities, Reddit and MacRumors, TouchID does not work within App Store, which completely causes the purchase validation function to be disabled. What's more, the bug is not device specific and affects a range of models including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air 2 owners.

Due to the latest glitch, some Apple users may want to downgrade from Apple iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.2 in order to restore Touch ID. This iOS 8.3 downgrade guide is compatible with Apple iOS 8.3 devices including the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini with retina display, and iPod touch 5G.

Steps to downgrade from iOS 8. 3 to iOS 8.2

Step-1: First, backup all data, including photos, music, and movies to iCloud or to the local PC. A full backup option is available on iTunes and iCloud, but it will not work if you restore a backup made on iOS 8.3 for an older version like iOS 8.2

Step-2: Download iOS 8.2 IPSW for your Apple device. Be sure that you download the correct IPSW firmware according to the model number of your device.

Step-3: Launch iTunes, head over to the device Summary page

Step-4: Hold the Option/ Alt button on Mac, or Shift key if you are on Windows, then click the Restore iPhone button

Step-5: You should now see a prompt to browse and select the iOS 8.2 IPSW file you downloaded.

Step-6: Select and open the file, which should begin downgrading or, restoring to iOS 8.2 process.

The process should take not take more than a couple of minutes.

For the jailbreakers out there, the latest iOS 8.3 also introduced a host of new patches that are intended to fix a total of 39 security flaws, including a patch against the TaiG jailbreak. Currently, there is jailkbreak neither for iOS 8.3 nor for iOS 8.2. As such, download iOS 8.1.3 to utilize the untethered jailbreak tool from the TaiG team.
