Father’s Day is a time to celebrate your father, but like most holidays the day for honoring Dad turns into an excuse to drink! So why not kill two birds with one stone and give your Dad one of the best gifts money can buy -- the perfect cocktail. Latin Times has collected seven delicious recipes that include Dad’s most favorite liquor, Dewar’s and Disaronno. While you may have been at a loss as to what to get your dad for Father’s Day this year, you can never go wrong with a strong Scotch whisky drink.

So before Sunday make sure you pick up some ice, alcohol and maybe even some fun cocktail glasses, to ensure you celebrate Dad in style. These recipes are easy to follow, fun to create and fast to make sure Dad has enough of his present to be very happy by the end of Father’s Day. And the best part about making Dad delicious cocktails for Father’s Day is that you don’t have to shell out a ton of money to spend the holiday with your dad, most of the garnishes and extra ingredients for these recipes can be found in pantry and with only Dewar’s and Disaronno on your shopping list, you can be sure to stay on budget for this weekend!


-2 parts Dewar’s 12 Blended Scotch Whisky

-1 part fresh squeezed lemon juice

-1 teaspoonful of white caster sugar

-1 dash egg whites

-1 dash of Angostura bitters

Put all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously to achieve a foamy texture, then strain into a sour glass. Garnish with a dash of Angostura bitters. Using egg whites is option but it will add a nice frothy consistency.


-2½ parts Dewar’s 18 or Dewar’s 12 Blended Scotch Whisky

-¾ parts Martini Sweet Vermouth

-1 dash of Angostura bitters

-1 twist of orange peel

-1 maraschino cherry

Combine the Dewar’s 12, the Martini Rossi and bitters with 2 – 3 cubes in a mixing glass. Stir gently. Don’t bruise the spirits and cloud the drink. Place the cherry in a chilled Martini glass and strain the whisky mixture over the cherry. Rub the cut edge of the orange peel over the rim of the glass and twist it over the drink to release the oils but don’t drop it in.


-½ part Disaronno

-1 part Vodka

-½ part Tangerine liqueur

-1 part pineapple juice

-1 splash lemon juice

Shake with ice and strain into a martini cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange slice.


-1 part Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky

-1 teaspoon sugar

-2 dashes bitters

-2 orange slices

-2 maraschino cherries


In the bottom of a rocks glass, carefully muddle the sugar, bitters, 1 orange slice, 1 cherry and a splash of water or soda. Remove the orange rind and add Dewar’s and ice. Garnish with the remaining orange slice and cherry.


-1½ oz. Disaronno

-1 oz. lemon juice

-½ oz. simple syrup

-1 ½ oz. Prosecco

Fill a tall glass with ice, add in ingredients, and mix thoroughly. Garnish with lime slices to taste.


-3 parts Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky

-2 ½ parts Martini & Rossi Rosso vermouth

-2 dashes bitters

-2 dashes simple syrup

-1 cherry

Stir the ingredients and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a luscious fresh cherry.


-2 parts Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky

-1–2 mixing spoons granulated sugar or ¾ parts simple syrup

-2 wedges of lemon

-3–4 fresh mint sprigs


Muddle the lemon, fresh mint leaves and sugar in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add Dewar's White Label, shake and strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice. Top with seltzer and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
