The now retired boxing star, Floyd Mayweather, has a good reason to not wear boxing gloves made in Mexico for his mediatic encounter in the ring with professional mixed martial artist Conor McGregor.

Both athletes are on tour promoting the fight that will take place on August 26 at the T-Mobile arena. According to sports forecasts, the event will have more audience than the fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Both imposed the conditions that must be taken into consideration to achieve a fair fight. According to a news portal in the United Kingdom, the rules are different, the gloves are bigger, the fights go on for much longer and kicking and ground game would be rendered null and void.

Considered the boxing match of the millennium, the fight will be held under basic boxing rules, paying attention to the gloves. El Diario NY reported that Mayweather and McGregor agreed to fight at 154, because fighters of more than 147 pounds should wear 10-ounce gloves, not 8-inch gloves, and lesser-weight gloves would favor Conor's big strike.

In another clause, Mayweather states that they shouldn't wear gloves stuffed with horse hair. That's why the boxer will remove his fists from gloves made in Mexico, as they are stuffed with thick hair that grows on the horses' neck. The boxing star has opted for foam filled gloves like the ones from Grant, because the rebound type impact is better.

In one of the press conferences, the MMA fighter commented on Floyd's gloves decision. "He doesn’t want Mexican gloves, it doesn’t matter. It's going to be a great show. I'm going to knock him out before four rounds, remember my words,” McGregor said at Staples Center.
