New reports say Rockstar is already in development for its next "GTA" title and that a "Grand Theft Auto Tokyo" was almost a real thing.

According to Techradar, the developer for "GTA" took a trip to Japan in order to scout it as a potential setting for a new game. This was around the time of "GTA 3" and "GTA Vice City." Unfortunately, the plan fell through due to the structure of Tokyo's streets.

Furthermoren the site source goes on to say that "Grand Theft Auto 6" is indeed in development. It comes as no surprise that "GTA 6" is already in development as "Grand Theft Auto 5" was released more than two years ago and Rockstar was open about it years ago. Though at the time the company added that no setting for the game had been set.

In late 2013 Rockstar president Leslie Benzies told Develop, "We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do." She continued, "We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas."

At the time Benzies talked about how the games come together from the story all the way to the missions. Benzies said:

"It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."

We'll bring more details about "Grand Theft Auto 6" as it becomes available.
