With three weeks left to go until the election, the President Obama reelection campaign is pulling out all the stops, teaming up with Jay-Z to redefine the American Dream.

The campaign video features excerpts of when Obama introduced Jay-Z via video at the rapper's inaugural Made in America music festival early last month.

"To me, the idea of America is that no matter what you look like or where you come from, you can make it if you try," Obama said. "Jay-Z did. He didn't come from power or privilege. He got ahead because he worked hard, learned from his mistakes and just plain refused to quit. That's the promise of this country, and all of us have the responsibility to keep that promise alive."

In the newly released video, Jay-Z shares why it is important to exercise your right to vote and how Obama represents the power of our voice.

"For so long, there was this voice that was silenced out there as far as exercising your right to vote," Jay-Z said. "I think it was a voice that was silent because people had lost hope. They didn't believe that their voice mattered or counted. We thought it was just polices - people going back and forth and at the end of the day it never trickled down to where we live."

Jay-Z also said that because of Obama, people are exercising their right, and are starting to see the power of their vote.

"He made it mean something for the first time for a lot of people," Jay-Z said. "Having someone in office who understands how powerful our voice can be is very important."

In September, Jay Z and wife Beyonce hosted a fundraiser and raised $4 million for the president's reelection campaign.

The president thanked the couple for there friendship.

"We are so grateful," Obama said. "Michelle and Malia and Sasha are mad at me because they are not here. That doesn't usually happen. Usually they're like, we're glad you're going -- we don't need to go. But every time they get a chance to see these two they are thrilled, partly because they are just both so generous, particularly to my kids. And Malia and Sasha just love both of them."

The president also praised the couple for being a role model for his children.

"Beyoncé couldn't be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent," Obama said. "And Jay-Z now knows what my life is like. We both have daughters, and our wives are more popular than we are. So we've got a little bond there. It's hard, but it's okay. It's okay."

"This has become a big year for my husband and me: We became parents. Now that we have more than our own future to worry about, the stakes in the election are even higher," Beyonce said in an email to supporters.

Jay-Z and Beyonce performed at a tribute concert honoring Obama the night before he took his oath of office.
