Jennifer Lopez Channels Celia Cruz At The AMAs, Impresses Justin Timberlake And Us! [VIDEO]

Oh-em-gee! Did that just happen? Did we just see a very Latina Jennifer Lopez embodying "The Queen Of Salsa," "La Guarachera de Cuba," Celia Cruz at the American Music Awards? Oh yes, we did! And thank God we weren't dreaming and it was recorded for history. Let us take a moment to sink that in. Ok, so JLo definitely made sure the AMAs got plenty of "Azúcar" when the pop diva, actress, TV producer, fashion designer and entrepreneur took on the stage of the award show and left us speechless with her vocals, her perfect rolling of the R's and of course, her dancing.

We're still getting over that routine, and JLo's fierceness and sassiness while performing it. Who could believe our Puerto Rican star is 44, but looks better than any 20-year old? And definitely moves better than anyone in general. Her dance number was better than watching a group of the "Dancing With The Stars" pro dancers (which is actually pretty amazing if you haven't caught the show yet!) and her three on stage costume changes proved that she's the true diva and no one does it better than her.

Jennifer started singing the iconic "Quimbara," which proved she's very in touch with her Latina roots as she dominated the fast-paced vocals with perfect pronunciation. She was wearing a long, loose black sparkly dress, with her hair pulled up in a bun. She had a bit of a Norma Desmond look, very matronly, regal, and elegant. Once "Quimbara" was over, a group of dancers gathered around and covered her, as the first notes of "La Vida Es Un Carnaval" started playing. Once the dancers moved away, they left us with a clear view of a more festive JLo, wearing a colorful and ruffled ensemble, looking very tropical.

As soon as that song ended, the dancers gathered around Jennifer yet again, this time to rip off her dress, leaving her in a silver leotard that really showcased how fit she is. She began performing "Bemba Colorá" only to break into dancing in the middle of the song. Flips, lifts, kicks, turns, JLo did it all, and looked gorgeous. Her moves were so tight and precise that if you blinked you could miss them. She definitely showed everyone how it's done, and if anyone had a doubt that Jennifer wasn't Latina enough, she just proved you wrong. Her salsa was one of the most amazing displays of attitude, personality and great execution. It totally made us forget that she didn't sing "La Negra Tiene Tumbao," but honestly, after that, we don't really care about that one.

It was pretty awesome to see the faces of all the American attendees, including major celebrities, who were amazed by Celia's music and also, by JLo's skills. She received a standing ovation after her number was over, surprising other triple threats such as Justin Timberlake, who couldn't contain his excitement. In case you missed the performance (which you shouldn't have) we found the video just for you, so you can indulge in a very sweet treat to begin your week the best way possible. Also, don't forget to scroll though the pictures above, to see JLo's different outfits in detail.
