Jorge “El Travieso” Arce doesn’t seem to be affected by the sexual assault accusations made by an employee at the Embassy Suites last month. According to several sources, the former Mexican boxer was accused of forcing the unidentified woman to perform oral sex on him during his latest trip to Anaheim, California.

TVnotas reports that the former WBO Super Bantamweight Champion has reported back to work and is also attending public events. He was a member of the sports newscasters panel at a fight in Veracruz, Mexico on April 9.

The 36-year-old Mexican boxer was confronted about the situation during a recent interview about his return to Televisa Deportes, and his answers sparked rumors that suggested the judge had ruled in his favor.

“That’s right, we are back and everything is normal, everything has been cleared,” Arce told the media. “They damaged my image, but I didn’t do anything. I’m done talking about this subject.”

According to a source close to the victim, the charges against the commentator have not been dropped and the case is still open.

“She is aware of the fact that Jorge is talking to the media and saying he is free of charges,” the informant told the publication. “But like I just said, the case is still open and the investigation continues.”

The source suggested that an agreement between both parties wasn’t necessarily out of the question and added, “They could settle out of court and not tell the press. But they haven’t said anything about that just yet.”

Jorge has denied the allegations since the day the news broke, and although he is not allowed to comment on the situation under his lawyers advice, he said, “I really can’t talk much about the case, the only thing I can say is that the truth will prevail […] and it will because I respect my daughters, I have three girls, and my lady […] so, it’s not fair that this woman is defaming me.”

Recent reports imply the investigation is ongoing.
