Netflix premiered the first trailer for "Las Chicas del Cable", a very different series, set in the 1920's where four ladies try to impose themselves before all of the many adversities experienced by women in those years at the beginning of the last century.

Blanca Suárez, Nadia de Santiago, Maggie Civantos and Ana Fernández are the actresses who star in this first Spanish series exclusively produced by Netflix from the creative minds of the "Gran Hotel" and "Velvet" series producers.

“We are the first in everything,” Ana Fernandez told EFE in an interview ahead of the show’s debut, according to Latin Herald.

The series, which was filmed in Spain, is a feminist tale about a group of women, led by Lidia (Suárez), striving to escape the limitations imposed by a male chauvinist society.

Despite the gap in time, the women in the series “have a lot in common with women in 2017,” according to Fernandez, who plays the role of the rebellious Carlota.

Polvorosa, who plays the role of Sara, says she likes to portray characters she can relate to her own feminism, and that the series aims to honor “the struggle these women faced to find a place in society.”

"In 1928 there were two billion people in the world; with their own dreams; their illusions; and especially their problems. Life was not easy for anyone and even less if you were a woman; we were not free but we dreamed of being," narrates one of these beautiful women in the trailer.

Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira, under the production of Bamboo, created the idea of a series hold by the topic of women independence searching.

In the trailer we can see for the first time scenes from the series, which has a 'Telenovela' aspect mixed with the quality of production that we come to know Spain for. It reminds us a lot of the series "Velvet," surrounded by amazing fashion, stunning decoration and a very accurate production.

This Spanish television fiction will premiere worldwide on April 28.
