Venezuelan internet star Lele Pons has leveled up from the most-followed and most-looped personality in Vines to one of the most promising Latin singers and performers. She attended the prestigious 61st Grammy Awards held at Staples Center in Los Angeles last Sunday as presenter for the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards with fellow Latina singer Aitana.

The internet star turned singer arrived at the red carpet with a show-stopper gold-colored dress with trail, matched with knee-length boots also in gold, both from Maison Met.

This year, Grammys showcased Latin music with Camila Cabello opening the night with a performance of her hit single “Havana.” Ricky Martin and J Balvin joined Cabello when the music shifted to a Latin medley, then legendary jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval accompanied the performers. Pons and fellow internet sensation LeJuan James joined in the performance. It was the first Latin-focused opening act at the Grammys.

After the show, Pons dished out on her Instagram how proud and thankful she is of her friend Camila Cabello. In her caption she wrote: “HERMANA!!! Words cannot describe how proud I am of you! You’re a star Cami! Thank you for inviting me to be part of your Grammy performance! This is only the beginning.”

The last statement from Pons hints that fans will be seeing more of the two gal pals. Pons also said in an interview that the two will be collaborating again in a new project. However, no other details were spilled.

Pons first worked with Cabello in the music video “Havana.” Cabello chose Pons and James to be in the video as she and her mother are huge fans of their YouTube videos. “They always made me and my mother cracked up,” Cabello once shared.

Pons has also appeared in a music video starring J Balvin and Aitana for “Downtown,” which received 236 million views.

Pons released her first single and first music video, “Celoso,” which was released in August 2018. The video has 212 million views at present, proving she is a serious performer and is successful at it.

She will be releasing her second single, “Bloqueo,” reported to be out this week.
