The Lexus RC F coupe attracted a lot of buzz at the Detroit Auto Show. The new Lexus sports car features a powerful naturally aspirated 5.0 liter V8 engine producing more than 450 hp. Here's a fun fact: carbon fiber makes everything better.

The Lexus RC F Carbon Package is a hardcore performance package the replaces select body panels with carbon fiber including the hood, the roof, and the active rear wing. There's no official figure as to how much weight is shaved away, but an aluminum hood can weigh five pounds more than a carbon fiber hood.

Based on the photos, the Carbon Package seems to have different tiers as the blue RC F does not feature the clear-coat carbon hood seen on the white model. What's more, we probably won't know the cost of the extra option until the Lexus RC F configurator is finally launched.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the Lexus RC F in the weeks ahead.
