The Lexus RC F leaked ahead of the Detroit Auto Show and its looking like a formidable foe to the BMW M4 Coupe and Mercedes-Benz C63. Now, Toyota has unveiled the radical Lexus RC F GT500 race car at the Tokyo Auto Salon.

The new Lexus RC F GT500 replaces the aging Lexus SC 430 GT500 and thoroughly spices up the 2014 lineup of the Japanese Super GT series. This year, the Super GT championship and DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) has unified regulations. 3.4 liter V8 engines are replaced with more compact turbocharged 2.0 liter powerplants. Nissan has redesigned its Nissan GT-R GT500 while the Honda HSV-010 GT is replaced by the Honda NSX-GT. As mentioned before, the Lexus SC 430 is replaced by the Lexus RC F. 

The Okayama GT 300 km kicks off the 2014 Japanese Super GT series at Okayama International Circuit on April 6. In the meantime, check out the video below and see the Lexus RC F GT500 testing at Fuji. By the looks of its pace in the wet, the Lexus RC F is more than ready for battle.
