Brooklyn-born artist, Danielle DeJesus, went viral after she posted a $10 bill she painted of Lin-Manuel Miranda as U.S. President Alexander Hamilton. “I have to admit I didn’t know much about Alexander Hamilton. But I was so inspired by the show and Hamilton’s Grammy win, I was blown away when I saw Anthony Ramos holding up the Puerto Rican flag [while accepting the Grammy Award]. I had to paint the bill. I posted a photo of it on Instagram and Facebook and it got a ton of likes and shares,” DeJesus told Fox News Latino.

DeJesus previously discuss how she is on a mission to preserve her neighborhood by photographing the people and places from her childhood. "My focus has been to document the people that I am familiar with in my neighborhood and all of the people that have been in my life throughout my life in Bushwick. Gentrification began about 10 years ago in my neighborhood and when it first began I felt helpless as I watched the people around me disappear. One day I decided that maybe I should photograph what is left of the neighborhood as it is before it changes forever and so I picked up my camera and began my story on Bushwick," Danielle said on her website, adding on her latest interview that she wants to use her artwork to share her pride as a Latina from Bushwick.
