A woman named Lisa Snyder from Berks County in Pennsylvania stands accused of the murder of her two children who were found hanging in their home in Albany Township. The single mom claimed that her 8-year-old son, Conner, committed suicide and took her 4-year-old sister, Brinley, with him because he supposedly doesn’t want to go alone.

Based on the investigations, a dog lead was used to hang the kids from the basement ceiling on Sept. 23, 2019. Synder told police that her son was bullied in school and this was what led him to take his own life as well as his sister’s.

On Wednesday this week, Synder was ordered to stand trial before Magisterial District Judge Kim Bagenstose. He issued this ruling after a preliminary hearing for the accused in a courthouse in Reading, Pennsylvania.

The hearing has been categorized as high-profile as Lisa Synder was also receiving death threats, according to WFMZ-TV. This is also the reason why the hearing was moved to a district judge's office instead of the Bagenstose's office in Hamburg for more security.

Some of Lisa Synder’s family members were also present in court to testify about her bullying claim. A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was also called to the witness stand and he got emotional when asked to identify the children in the photos presented to him.

At the height of the investigation, the police also uncovered other crimes that Synder committed and it involves her pet dog. After sifting through her messages on Facebook, they found explicit photos of Synder where she was having sexual activities with the animal.

These images were said to have been sent to an unnamed man via social media. Lisa Synder will face charges for animal cruelty and abuse for her sordid acts.

In any case, The Morning Call reported that Synder knew that she would be arrested in connection to the deaths of Conner and Brinley. Her friend, Jessica Senft, testified in court that a week after the kids were found hanging in the basement, Syder sent a text message saying that she needs strong drinks so she invited her over to her home.

They were at the porch and when Synder started to relax after a few shots, she started to talk and confided that she is already expecting her arrest for her children’s deaths, however, she believed she would be released on bail because she has no criminal record. Senft went on to say that Synder is planning to kill herself once she gets out.

After the hearing, they found no evidence to prove Lisa Synder's claims that her son was bullied. In fact, students, teachers and the school bus driver all stated that Conner was a happy child and there was no sign that he was depressed. Although it was Synder who called 911 to report about the supposed suicide, the court determined that this was all an act to hide her crime.

Among the proofs found that pin the accused to the crime were Google searches about ways to commit suicide, death by carbon monoxide and effective methods to die by hanging. It was also discovered that she ordered the dog lead from Walmart just a day before the crime was carried out.

Finally, Lisa Synder was ordered to go on trial for two counts each of first- and third-degree murder and two felony charges of endangering the welfare of children. Her formal arraignment has bee set for March 12.
