Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee took the Grammys 2018 stage to perform their hit song "Despacito". The Puerto Rican duo turned up the heat of the Madison Square Garden during their musical number and the thermostat completely exploded when Zuleyka Rivera joined them with some sexy moves. "Despacito" is nominated in several categories like Record of the Year. The Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hit song will go up against “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, “The Story Of O.J.” by Jay-Z, “HUMBLE.” by Kendrick Lamar and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars.

The other category that "Despacito" is competing in is Song of the Year where it will be up against the following: “4:44” by Jay-Z, “Issues” by Julia Michaels), “1-800-273-8255” by Logic Featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid, “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars.

"Despacito" was declared the Song of the Summer in 2017. The song by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee topped both the Global scale list as well as the U.S. one. It was also the most played song in 47 out of the 50 states and the top tune in cities like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and Atlanta.

At the Latin Grammys in 2017, the song took most of the awards it was nominated in. The big winner of the night was “Despacito” with four awards including record and song of the year. Luis Fonsi, who co-wrote the song and sings it, dedicated his award to his native Puerto Rico, still suffering the consequences of hurricane Maria. "I'm here because of Puerto Rico, and this song is a hymn to Puerto Rico," Fonsi said backstage, according to AP. "Everything I do, and everything I will do, now more than ever, is to continue celebrating my island, my culture, my homeland and my music, and to make sure the public knows that Puerto Rico needs help."
