Sony Playstation 3 exclusive Gran Turismo 6 and Xbox One exclusive Forza 5 are engaged in a major duel for gaming console's racing simulator supremacy. Meanwhile, Nintendo has just released a trailer for the upcoming Mario Kart 8, a lovely gem for the new Nintendo Wii U.

The trailer jumps right into the classically whimsy Nintendo world and shows Mario doing a trick on his awesome quad bike while an airline jet flies over head. Small details also demonstrate considerate attention to detail as Mario's well-groomed mustache twitches against the wind that blows against his face as he races down the airport runway. What's more, the new generation of karts can also transform into sweet hang gliders for some hilarious aerial acrobatics. Anti-gravity will allow the cars to fly up walls and even along the bottom of tracks suspended in the air.

The new airport track looks very technical as elevation changes and outdoor as well as indoor sections do their part to add variety in the gameplay. Mushroom Kingdom is another awesome addition also, as players race across a track built over the kingdom's fluffy clouds.

Finally, expect Rosalina and several new baby characters in Mario Kart 8 as well. Mario Kart 8 was initially slated for a Christmas release. However, delays have pushed the Mario Kart release date to Spring 2014.
