Met Gala 2014 Best Dressed: See Lupita Nyong'o, Thalía, Zoe Saldana And More Latinas Dazzling Designs At The Costume Institute Gala! [PHOTOS]

The 2014 Met Gala held its annual event this evening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Costume Institute Gala Benefit is an annual fundraising event in benefit of the Met's Costume Institute. The Met Ball is regarded as one of the most exclusive social events in NY that brings out some of the biggest celebrities in the entertainment industry. This year many Latinas were in attendance like Lupita Nyong'o, Thalia, Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bündchen, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana. Wearing big gowns and dazzling jewelry the stars came out in full force and impressed all of the fashion lovers. Other stars that walked the red carpet included Beyonce, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Blake Lively, Marion Cotillard, Rita Ora, Taylor Swift, Shailene Woodley, David and Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Paré, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield and Kim Kardashian. Michelle Obama started the celebration with the ribbon cutting of the new Anna Wintour Costume Center opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York this morning. The First Lady of the United States knows a little thing here and there about fashion and officially unveiled the $40 million center named after the editor of Vogue magazine in a stunning Naeem Khan floral dress. The yearly benefit gala has been organized by Wintour who has helped raise more than $125 million for the fashion wing, which now sports her name. "I'm so impressed by Anna's contributions not just to fashion but to this great museum. This center is for anyone who cares about fashion and how it impacts our culture and our history," the FLOTUS said during her speech.

The Anna Wintour Costume Center will open a new exhibit to the public this week featuring work from Charles James. Celebrities that attended the event this morning were Calvin KleinMichael KorsDonatella Versace,Carolina HerreraTory BurchMarc JacobsVictoria Beckham,Donna KaranZac PosenRalph LaurenMary-Kate and Ashley Olsen,Reed Krakoff and Prabal Gurung. The show titled "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" recreates some of the designers best looks with one made of thousands of fresh flowers in the atrium of the museum which all guests will be greeted with. According to The Cut, some of the pieces to look out for include Ribbon Gown, made from rainbow-colored ribbons, and the Clover Gown, with its distinctive four-sided skirt.
