International pop star, Mirella Cesa is one of the most important singer-songwriters in Ecuador. She has had over 15 singles reach the number one spot. Her first international single was "A Besos" featuring Latin Grammy winner Sie7e, the single reached the TOP 30 of the Latin Pop Chart in the USA. She is currently promoting her new single "La Corriente."

Cesa is known as the "mother of Andipop." A genre originally from the Andean Mountains that mixes Andean music and Latin pop. Her musical instrument is the charango, an indigenous instrument that sounds like a harp and has the characteristics of a guitar.

She sang with artists such as Franco de Vita, Carlos Baute, Armando Manzanero and Axel as part of their tours in Ecuador, as well as Alvaro Torres, Gaitanes, Alberto Plaza, among others.

Internationally, she was the first female artist to win the Top 40 in Spain award representing Ecuador in 2009, nominated for the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Latin American Central Artist.

Cesa recently visited the offices of Latin Times in New York. Her fans, in a live broadcast via Facebook, had the opportunity to ask her questions and enjoy her singing live. Watch the video below, and be entertained with the good energy of Mirella, as well as her hit songs.
