When Venezuelan pop duo Chino & Nacho announced their break up on February 24 2017, after 14 years making hit after hit, many speculations arose on what had really happened. Jesús Alberto Miranda Pérez (Chyno; formerly Chino) clarified during an interview for the entertainment news show "El Gordo y La Flaca" that his separation from Miguel Ignacio Mendoza Donatti (Nacho) has nothing to do with money issues, but a friendly decision so Nacho could spend more time with his family and Chyno could explore other musical facets.
Days later Nacho had the opportunity to share his version and told "El Gordo y La Flaca" reporter Tanya Charry that after more than 160 confirmed dates for concerts per year he had to regulate the trips. “No, I can’t leave for 15 days. I feel like I’m abandoning my kids, abandoning my family, abandoning my wife,” said the Venezuelan singer corroborating Chyno's declarations. Nacho ended up saying he thinks he needs to give a big hug to Chino and thank him for all the support and let him know how much he really appreciates him, and how proud he is.
Recently, Chyno used the same platform to keep promoting his successful solo career, but things started getting out of control when asked about his former partner. "We haven’t really talked for a couple of months, in fact, the other day I spoke with some of his team to tell him that immigration here in the United States had told me that he can come with his green card." said Chyno to Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina. Nacho didn’t like the comment in the slightest and making use of social networks went against Chyno, describing him as "beast," "inept," and "animal."
" To those friends who act like they are smart, as if I had not studied, to those who think I don’t know that I can enter the United States with my green card, animal! What I can’t do is leave another country without a passport,” expressed Nacho. “Beast! You think I have two months without seeing my children for fun? It seems to me quite irresponsible that an inept comes out saying comments without putting themselves in the shoes of the others.”
"No, I'm sorry, but I don’t apologize for what I said. It seems to me quite heartless of a person to want to be funny with the difficult situation that I am living, making sarcastic comments that suggest that my children are facing my absence for more than 60 days because I feel like it, adding motives to people to think that I need to do stupid things to sell my music and that the issue with my passport is a show. There was nothing more than bad intention in what I heard and that's what I say," wrote Nacho in his Instagram account.
Fans weren’t very happy with the feud, especially with Nacho’s attitude, but the singer replied to them too in another post. “Here, trying to understand the logic of those who say: ‘what a disappointment, you lost your audience for being vulgar, you took off the mask, you have one less follower,’" wrote the singer referring to his followers. “They call me rude, closing the comment with two or three worse words than ‘animal, beast and inept.’”
“Whoever wants with the best energy to share my most appreciated moments, is welcome. Thank you. Turn the page. Happy Monday,” ended Nacho.
Chyno eventually gave an interview, saying that he didn't think Nacho was referring to him in his comments. "Honestly I don't want to think this was targeted at me. In fact, the same security that takes care of him in Venezuela are the ones that look after me. We're the same person. I'm going to write to him now to see if what I said bothered him and to apologize, because I didn't say it in a malicious way. If he misinterpreted it, it didn't mean to come off like that."
Meanwhile, Yandel, who launched his solo career in 2013 after separating from the duo Wisin y Yandel, had some words of advice for the Venezuelan performers. "They should work together in harmony. This is something to enjoy, I think that a competition between the two of them, that are like brothers and worked together for so many years is not healthy. I suggest both of them to fix things, to create a positive environment," the Puerto Rican reggaetonero allegedly said.
