The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers will duel it out on Sunday Night Football.

This is a massive game for both teams as each squad plays in a very competitive division. Both the Giants and Packers play in a division with an undefeated team so the stakes are high. These two historic franchises have met each other 50 times in the regular season with the Packers holding a 27-23 edge .

Let’s break down the game and pick a winner.

New York Giants (2-2)

What looked like a promising 2-2 start for Ben McAdoo’s crew has now turned into back-to-back defeats. Odell Beckham Jr. is showing a lot of vulnerability, and many believe it’s becoming a distraction. What’s done is done, and the Giants have to move on, especially in a division that has been much better than expected this season.

One of the biggest problems for Big Blue this year has been finishing drives. Although they rank sixth overall in yards gained, they rank just 27th in points produced . Eli Manning is showing no mobility whatsoever, and that’s critical because the Giants don’t have a great offensive line. To make matters worse, the Giants offense will also be without running back Shane Vereen.

The biggest strength on this Giants team is their wide receiver depth. Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Victor Cruz have to get open and beat 1-on-1 coverages for the Giants to even have a chance. Defensively, the Giants are not getting much pressure on the quarterback at all, and that could be problematic, especially against Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay Packers (2-1)

Fresh off a bye week, the Packers need to get going in the NFC North because the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings couldn’t be playing better football. A loss to the Giants wouldn’t derail the Packers season, but it would make the trail towards an NFC North title a lot more difficult.

The Packers have done a tremendous job at getting to the quarterback this season, and considering the Giants don’t have an elite offensive line, that could be the key to a victory. The No. 1 priority for the Packers will be their secondary containing the Giants wide outs.

The Packers have the No. 1 ranked rush defense in the league, which will force the Giants to throw more often. As gifted a quarterback as Manning is, he is known for throwing interceptions quite frequently.

Schedule

The Giants and Packers will face off on Sunday night at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The game will be played at Lambeau Field. You can watch a live game stream here .

Prediction

Both teams need this game to keep pace with an undefeated squad in their division. The Giants can’t afford to drop to 2-3, but playing at Lambeau Field is no east task. The Packers will be fresh and ready to go after a bye week, and they should leave Week 5 with a win. Defensive pressure at the line of scrimmage will make the difference.

Packers win 27-24
