Nuestra Belleza Latina
Last night, 30 girls competed for a spot in the Nuestra Belleza Latina mansion, but only 6 got it, completing the group of 12 girls who will fight to become the next Latina beauty queen. Univision

Last week on “Nuestra Belleza Latina” 30 of the 60 girls who were pre-selected during auditions had to prove their talent, beauty (inside and out) and personality in front of the judges and stylist Jomari Goyso, who sat on the third judge’s chair as a guest. By the end of the night, Yesenia Hernández, half Puerto-Rican, half Mexican, Josephine Ochoa from Guatemala, Alina Robert from Cuba, Gabriela Alvarez from Venezuela, and Aly Villegas and Prissila Sánchez, both from Mexico were the lucky ones who got a “Eres bella, firma aquí” (You’re beautiful, sign here) from Osmel, securing them a key to the NBL mansion.

Last night, the show went through with the same dynamics as last week. The other 30 girls stepped in front of the judges Lupita, Osmel and Jomari, who filled the third chair for the last time. They answered questions sent by fans on social media and 12 ladies were selected. That group had to prove their talent and the final six were chosen to complete the group who will compete for the crown. Valeria Moreno from Colombia, Aleyda Ortiz from Puerto Rico, María Delgado, María Elena Anaya and Carolina Verdura from México and Nabila Tapia from Dominican Republic were the final girls who were selected.

To add a bit of a twist this season, two former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado and Denise Quiñones are working with six girls each, who were sorted out by the judges. They took into consideration the girls’ qualities and their life experiences. The married girls and/or the ones who have kids were placed in Team Alicia and the ones who are a bit more “exuberant” were placed in Team Denise, so she can “neutralize” them, according to the show producer Nelson Ruíz.

“This show is intended to entertain, it’s a contest of credibility. The gossip is going to be addressed, but only what happens inside the mansion. I don’t want any skeletons in the closet because sometimes the girls come up with stories, and I’m not allowing that. Besides, anything they do will be public to the viewers, so they feel a part of this whole process. Every cat walk will be at the same level as Victoria’s Secret,” Ruíz added.

Don’t miss the beginning of the competition where 12 girls will have to overcome obstacles, prove that they have what it takes and win the support of the viewers to become the 8th beauty queen to win “Nuestra Belleza Latina” every Sunday on Univision.
