OnePlus readies its new Oxygen OS software ahead of the OnePlus Two flagship smartphone. OnePlus

Earlier this month, we reported that OnePlus is preparing to launch a brand-new flagship smartphone, tentatively known as the OnePlus Two, which is expected to arrive no later than Q3 2015. So far, it’s what’s inside the next-gen smartphone that is drawing the most buzz.

The Chinese smartphone company recently announced that the new OnePlus Two will run its own in-house operating system, known as the Oxygen OS. Apparently, details of the latest OS have already begun to emerge.

Recently, techie tipster @Leaksfly recently tweeted an image that gave us the first glimpse of the new Oxygen OS on the current OnePlus One. Little is known about the new Oxygen OS so the recent image is our best impression yet.

Based on the image, it looks like the Oxygen OS UI will offer an interface very similar to the Android 5.0 Lollipop with emphasis of creating icons that are flat and simple.

Although the new OnePlus Two is slated to arrive later this year, official specs, images, and pricing have yet to be announced. So far, we expect the new OnePlus Two flagship smartphone to baost a dual-Sim support as well as an expansion slot for a MicroSD card.

As for specs and dimensions, speculators suggest the new OnePlus Two will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, and a hefty 3300 mAh battery.

Apparently, the latest OnePlus Oxygen OS will be available as early as March 27. What's more, the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Cyanogenmod 12 will supposedly arrive March 30 as well.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the upcoming Oxygen OS and the OnePlus Two in the months ahead.
