After the recent murder of Netflix's location manager, Carlos Muñoz Portal, Pablo Escobar's brother, Robert De Jesus Escobar Gaviria, warned Netflix to keep their shoots away from Colombian soil, as it is quite dangerous.

The 71-year-old said that no studio is allowed to use his or his deceased sibling's name without prior authorization. "I don't want Netflix or any other film production company to film any movies in Medellin or Colombia that relates to me or my brother, Pablo, without authorization from Escobar Inc. It is very dangerous; especially without our blessing. This is my country," he said to The Hollywood Reporter.

Metro informed that Escobar Gaviria also said what precautions and extra security measures "Narcos" could implement to keep their crew safe. "You have to eliminate all threats. When I was walking in the jungle one day, I had a bag with $2 million in $100 bills. The army was searching for me and Pablo at this time. Suddenly, we are being shot at."

"Both Pablo and I, along with a few security people, start running towards a small channel of water, we swim away. This was all done without guns. If you have the intellect, you don't need to use weapons. If not, you have to. In this case, Netflix should provide hit men to their people as security."

In 2016, Escobar Gaviria demanded $1 billion from Netflix for using Pablo Escobar’s likeness and story without permission from the family. Even though "Narcos" season 4 has already been confirmed, Netflix still hasn’t announced its release date because the two parties are still in discussions about the case. Robert added, "If we don’t receive it [the money], we will close their little show."

In September 17, Mexican authorities confirmed the death of Muñoz Portal. According to CNN, the body was found Sunday evening, inside a compact car with several gun impacts, in a community belonging to the State of Mexico that borders with the state of Hidalgo, a state with one of the highest murder rates in the country.

Muñoz Portal, 37, worked for popular series like "Narcos" and films like "Fast and Furious." Netflix sent a statement informing their knowledge. "We are aware of the death of Carlos Muñoz Portal, a well respected location manager and we send our condolences to his family," wrote the representatives of the American entertainment company. "Facts surrounding his death are still unknown as authorities continue to investigate."
