Paul Walker, star of the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise, was killed in a terrifying car accident on Saturday. According to reports, Paul Walker, 40, was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT that lost control, struck a pole, and was trapped in a fire. Both Paul Walker and the driver of the Carrera GT, 38-year-old Roger Rodas, were killed instantly.

Later on Saturday, Paul Walker's representatives reached out to his fans with the following statement on Facebook:

It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. According to Jalopnik, the incident occurred at the Always Evolving performance shop, which is a tuning garage that Paul Walker is invested in. The Porsche Carrera GT involved in the fatal incident was driven by Rodas, the co-owner of the shop.
