Paulina Rubio is returning to the music scene with a new album and it had been reported that she was working with Selena Gomez on a duet. Newly released information points to the collaboration being a flat out lie, or maybe it talks fell-through and it's not happening anymore.
The former "X-Factor USA" judge talked to Vanidades about her new project. "My new album is like a new member of my team, of the family," Rubio said. "It will be a true warrior, it will a little bit of all the genres like banda, pop, collaborations with DJ Snake and Selena Gomez. I looked to keep a key element: that the music is danceable."
After the interview went public, we all got excited to find out what the sound of the collab would be like. Being that the Mexican star wants to release a fun, lively album, we thought it would be a huge club hit. Gossip Cop reached to to Selena's camp and they said they had "no clue" about the singers working together. We are still not losing hope though, maybe they are playing coy and want to surprise fans when the single is released, at least that's what we're wishing for.
This whole scenario reminded us of when Belinda said she was working with Jennifer Lopez. “I can’t say anything about this project yet, because they reached me, so nothing has yet been set in stone. We’re just talking,” Belinda said back in August 2014. She was very specific saying that it was Lopez's camp that reached out to her for a possible collab.
JLo later debunked the "Egoísta" singer saying: "She has not approached me, I don't know anything about that. Maybe it's a rumor that started somewhere, but it doesn't make sense, there's nothing about that."
