The Porsche Macan was first leaked last month when slides from an internal dealer meeting found its way on internet forums. Future models mentioned in the slides include the upcoming Porsche Boxster GTS, Porsche Cayman GTS, and the highly anticipated Porsche Macan small SUV, the latest model to join the Porsche lineup. The Porsche Macan price details were also leaked from the meeting. Expect the Porsche Macan S to start at $52,000. The Porsche Macan Turbo starts at $75,000.

Now, another Porsche Macan teaser has released ahead of the LA Auto Show next month. Details are slim and Porsche's teaser adds little to the conversation. However, here is a detail that we're are excited to share: the Porsche Macan Turbo will boast a twin-turbocharged 3.6 liter V6 producing 395 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. The 3.6 liter V6 engine was initially offered in the Panamera and Cayenne in naturally aspirated form. The Macan is the first to receive the turbocharged setup. Skeptics will be happy to know that the "baby Porsche" will still deliver true Porsche performance.

The Porsche Macan S is rumored to offer a smaller twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 powerplant. Slotting below the Macan S is a standard Porsche Macan which may use a naturally aspirated 3.0 V6 engine. Porsche Macan models across the range will all have a rear-biased all-wheel-drive powertrain with Torsen limited-slip differential.

Based on the Audi Q5, the compact Porsche Macan will be significantly lighter on its feat than the Cayenne. Porsche will fit the Macan with a sportier suspension system and sharper steering over the tamer Q5 as well. Exterior wise, expect the Porsche Macan to adopt many cues and proportions from the larger Cayenne.

The latest Porsche Macan teaser image doesn't show us a lot but it does show us a new and rather distinguishing headlight cluster. The unique "quad-barrel" headlights were first used in the Panamera-based Sport Turismo shooting brake concept and are also used in the headlights of the production 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. Expect the new "quad-barrel" headlight layout to become a signature design element in future Porsche models

As for the teaser video, the Porsche Macan demonstrates its abilities under testing, showing off footage of slalom runs and desert testing. Without further ado, here is the trailer for the upcoming Porsche Macan small SUV. The production Porsche Macan is expected to bow at next month's 2013 LA Auto Show. Stay tuned as we learn more about the Porsche Macan in the days ahead.
