The women of the British royal family are often seen carrying a clutch in every occasion. Clutches are a way for royals to escape from social awkward situations, such as shaking hands. But has anyone wondered what possibly is inside these royal small bags?

Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty owns around 300 bags, but most of her favorites are from Launer London. Her Royal Highness often changes her bags, but the contents remain the same. The Queen’s clutch stores things like a tube of mints, doggie treats for her corgis, a cut of crossword puzzle from a newspaper and goodluck charms from her children.

Add to those stuff is a metal makeup case given by Prince Philip, which she has been carrying around for the past 60 years. The Queen’s clutch also carries the basics like a tiny mirror, sunglasses and reading glasses.

Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge

Kate Middleton keeps it simple with just four essential everyday items. The duchess usually carries blotting papers, a lip balm, a compact and a handkerchief.

A source added that Kate could be carrying more than these four basic items, given that she uses a bigger clutch. Based on observation from several previous engagements, Kate may be carrying tissue papers, a pen, sunglasses and some cash.

Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex

The former “Suits” actress is known to deviate from royal protocols. Meghan Markle received mixed reactions for using a crossbody bag in one public event instead of a clutch.

The Duchess of Sussex regularly uses handbags as she always initiates handshakes in public appearances, but she does not shy away from clutch bags too. Whatever bag she uses, a hand sanitizer is something she couldn’t afford to miss.

The duchess has a few beauty items in her bags like a correcting pen and a mascara. A pair of sunglasses is also another must keep in Meghan’s bags.

Princess Diana

No one knows what’s inside Princess Diana’s clutch. A wild guess is a lipstick. But the Princess of Wales gave the royal clutch another purpose and turned it into a famous “cleavage bags.” Princess Diana avoided wardrobe mishaps with her clutch bags.
