The fans had already been prepared for the era of superheroes from several versions of “Superman” and “Batman” to movies like “Spiderman,” Hulk,” “Daredevil” and “Blade.” But nothing spells success like Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) does with a $16-billion box-office hit around the globe, making the Marvel brand a multibillion franchise.

One of the greatest factors contributing to MCU’s triumph is the risky casting that perfectly fit the iconic characters. Some actors have zero under their belt, but Marvel managed to establish them. And some actors just increased their net worth.

The last installment of the “Avengers” franchise, the “Avengers: Endgame,” is currently showing in cinemas, and Marvel is expected to break records, if not set new ones. It also means additional earnings for the actors.

For those who wonder how much Marvel Studios is paying the actors portraying the characters in the MCU films, below is a list. This is based on reported rates from starred films, the “Avengers” franchise or combined.

Robert Downey Jr. ($200 Million)

Downey Jr. took Tony Stark’s Iron Man to his very own brand, and it’s all worth it. From a $500,000 paycheck in the first “Iron Man,” he managed to up his salary to a whopping $200 million in total from all Marvel films, excluding “Avengers: Endgame.” Downey is also the third-highest grossing domestic actor of all time. His net worth now is $260 million.

Vin Diesel ($54 Million)

There is an official figure for Diesel’s earning as Groot for “Avengers: Infinity War.” But some sources speculated that the actor earned $54 million in “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol: 1” alone. Diesel’s net worth now is $160 million.

Scarlett Johansson ($45 Million)

Johansson reportedly had cashed in $20 million from “Avengers: Infinity War.” An untitled Black Widow solo film will give the actress an additional $15 to $20 million bucks. Johansson’s net worth is now $150 million.

Chris Hemsworth ($31.1 Million)

Hemsworth’s first paycheck as Thor was shockingly just around $300,000. With “Thor’s” box-office success, along with the success of the “Avengers” film series, the actor managed to take home a total of $31.1 million from all the Marvel films he had been in; $12 million of that came from “Avengers: Infinity War.” Hemsworth’s net worth now is $90 million.

Jeremy Renner ($12.1 Million)

Renner’s Hawkeye may have played a small part in “Avengers: Infinity War,” but it cost Marvel Studios $6.1 million for Renner’s screen time. In addition, “Captain America: Civil War” gave Renner another $6 million. With “Mission Impossible” and “American Hustle” under his accomplishments, Renner is reportedly worth $50 million.

Chris Evans ($8.3 Million)

Evans, also known as Captain America and who had also played as Human Torch in “Fantastic Four,” started in the MCU with just a $300,000 paycheck. But Evans took home $8 million from “Avengers: Infinity War,” and his net worth has increased to $50 million.

Mark Ruffalo ($6 Million)

Ruffalo’s Hulk loves to smash things, including paychecks. The actor’s recent paycheck cost Marvel Studios $6 million for “The Avengers,” “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Avengers: Infinity War” combined. His current net worth is $30 million.

Benedict Cumberbatch ($5 Million)

Cumberbatch has a few successful projects under his name, including films like “The Imitation Game” and ”The Hobbit” film series, as well as the television series “Sherlock Holmes.” But “Avengers: Infinity War” gave him $5 million. The Dr. Strange actor is now worth $30 million.

Brie Larson ($5 Million)

This 2016 Best Actress Oscar awardee is the latest addition to the MCU as Captain Marvel. Larson was paid $5 million for playing Carol Denvers, beating Downey’s $300,000 starting fee and Rudd’s $150,000. Larson’s net worth is $10 million.

Paul Rudd ($1.8 Million)

Rudd’s career dated back in 1992, when he starred in “Clueless.” With almost 50 movies and 30 TV series in which he starred, Rudd’s net worth comes to $30 million. But his fee for “Ant-Man” only gave him $300,000. Eventually, he was given a bonus of $1.5 million.

Two MCU actors are also worth mentioning. A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow, known as Pepper Potts, has a net worth of $60 million, but MCU earnings were not confirmed. “A Star Is Born” star Bradley Cooper, who plays Rocket, is worth $100 million but did not make it to the top 10 due to lack of specific information about how much he earned from the franchise.
