Colombian actress Sofía Vergara headed out to visit her home country and caused quite the stir with the media and local fans.

Vergara went straight to the beautiful northern city of Cartagena, where she seems to have had a great time, enjoying the food and spending time with her friends and family. Sofía was reportedly accompanied by her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, her niece Claudia Vergara and up to 10 assistants.

The actress posted super fun photos of her delicious food, her Colombian friends, a wedding she attended and even her delicious room service. “Breakfast in the room #cartagena #nomequieroir,” (I don’t want to leave), said her photo caption.

The purpose of the stunning actress’s visit is to film a beer commercial, directed by famous Colombian film director in the gorgeous beaches of Agua Azul, on Baru Island, south of Cartagena. The commercial will allegedly involve Sofía dancing a type of Colombian folk dance called the "champeta," accompanied by 200 professional dancers who were handpicked in contests held in Barranquilla and Cartagena.

Although it’s work, this comes as a much needed break for the unstoppable actress who has been filming non-stop and recently had a tremendous scare when husband Joe Manganiello was rushed to the hospital due to an appendicitis, but things got extremely complicated while there, as TMZ reported at the time.

Later on, the actress gave fans an update. “He is OK,” the 43-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight’s reporter. “He had a little problem, but now he’s good.”

Besides assuring her hunky hubby was “doing great,” Vergara shared her reaction to a tweet Manganiello posted prior to his hospitalizations saying, “I love my wife.” “I’m always very special with him, so it must have been one of my normal days,” the Colombian bombshell responded with a laugh. “That’s how I am.”
