Being Taylor Swift is not easy — people either love or hate her. Swift is subjected constantly to criticisms and rumors of all kinds, from the West-Swift feud to her famous breakups and, recently, her sexuality. The release of her new single “Me!’ may have fueled the gay rumor surrounding Swift.

Recently, Swift created a stir among her fans when her website launched a countdown to April 26. Different rumors flew around the big announcement. The loudest has something to do with her sexuality.

The public could not be blamed. After all, Swift and supermodel best friend Karlie Kloss were spotted “making out” in a concert in 2014. Even before “Kaylor” was a thing, Swift was already suspected of being gay.

Swift and fiddle player Emily Poe were close during the “Gorgeous” singer’s early career. Swift uploaded dozens of their photos on My Space, and they hiked the Grand Canyon together. Poe was suddenly vanished from the team, and then Swift dated Joe Jonas.

In addition, Swift is friends with confirmed and openly gay model Cara Delevigne. Fans wished Swift and Delevigne were more than friends when the friendship unfolded on Instagram.

The music video of “Me!” has fans dissecting elements in it and linking them to Swift’s unconfirmed sexuality. The video contains unicorn, rainbow colors, women in pastel pantsuits and lots of colorful butterflies.

“Me!” is also Swift’s first collaboration with Panic! at the Disco’s lead vocalist, Brendon Urie. Recently, Urie came out as a pansexual.

Clues also include a wall painted with colorful wings that Swift uploaded on her Instagram. The singer also wore a rainbow dress during an interview for the promotion of “Me!”

The fans may have been lead on with all mystery and signs given. Swift incorporated LGBTQ elements in “Me!” for a good reason. The date when “Me!” was dropped, April 26, is in celebration of Lesbian Visibility Day.

Whether Swift is straight or not, she showed the world that she supports diversity and all kinds of fans, regardless of gender. The award-winning artist has yet to come out on her own terms and end the speculations for her fans’ sake.
