Teen Couple Stabs, Burns Girl's Father Then Jokes About It On Video

A recently released video showing a teen couple laughing about "murdering somebody" is believed to be shot just days after the girl's father was found stabbed and set on fire in his home.

The shocking footage released by a Nevada court is being used as evidence against 18-year-old Aaron Guerrero, and his 16-year-old girlfriend, Sierra Halseth, the daughter of 45-year-old Daniel Halseth, who was found murdered in the garage of his Las Vegas home on April 9.

"Welcome back to our YouTube channel … Day 3 after murdering somebody …," Guerrero says into the camera.

The video is believed to be shot six days after they allegedly killed Sierra’s father, attempted to dismember him, and set fire to his house.

"Whoa! Don’t put that on camera," Sierra replies while giggling.

"It was worth it," Guerrero adds before kissing Sierra on her forehead.

She then brags how they "had sex a lot today," to which her Guerrero replies was "payment for doing it".

He then softly slaps her face and puts his hand around her throat. Sierra pretends to choke and then looks at the camera with her eyes wide, and says, "So, yeah".

According to court documents, the teens stabbed Daniel and then attempted to set fire to and dismember his body.

The couple reportedly used Daniel’s credit cards to buy items used in the gruesome crime, police told KLAS.

Prosecutors presented photos to the grand jury that are believed to have been taken before Daniel’s death.

The photos included Sierra buying bleach at WinCo, Guerrero buying a saw, lighter fluid, and gloves from Home Depot.

The prosecutors also presented images showing the bloody crime scene, with knives, saws, the lighter fluid, and burned material, the outlet reported.

"There was a very strong odor of lighter fluid," Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department homicide detective Matthew Hocking told the grand jury.

The police arrived at the scene after Daniel’s mother, Christine Halseth, got suspicious as she couldn’t contact him over the phone.

Responding officers found a handsaw, a chainsaw, a circular saw, and numerous gallon-size bottles of lighter fluid.

Daniel was reportedly stabbed multiple times and stuffed inside a sleeping bag before being set on fire.

"Mr. Halseth was completely burned from head to toe," Hocking said.

After the murder, the teen couple fled in Daniel’s Nissan Altima, but were located and arrested less than a week later in Salt Lake City. At the time of the arrest, the couple was allegedly making plans to flee to California.

The exact motive behind the slaying is unclear, however, a report from KLAS said that the teens were upset that their parents had restricted them from each other.

In addition to murder, the teen couple is facing charges of conspiracy, arson, robbery, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Despite being 16, Sierra has been charged as an adult, but cannot face the death penalty, however, Guerrero can potentially face the death penalty.
