Donald Trump has been accused of verbally harassing the contestants and crew of his show “The Apprentice” with “sexist remarks and overtures.” However, even royals — such as Prince Charles’ late ex-wife, Princess Diana, and Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton — were not exempted from this behavior.

Trump Attempted To Court Princess Diana

This happened after Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced. British TV anchor Selina Scott wrote on The Sunday Times that Trump saw Diana as “the ultimate trophy wife” and tried his best to woo her. He did it by sending her huge bouquets of flowers to her Kensington Palace home.

Unfortunately for him, not only was Diana unmoved, but she was even a little freaked out. As the flowers piled up, the princess became worried as, according to Scott, it felt like Trump was stalking Diana. “What am I going to do? He gives me the creeps,” Princess Diana told Scott.

Even after her death in 1997, Princess Diana didn’t escape Trump’s improper comments. “I only have one regret in the women department — that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer,” Trump wrote in his book “The Art Of The Comeback” published in 1997.

“I met her on a number of occasions. I couldn’t help but notice how she moved people. She lit up the room with her charm, her presence. She was a genuine princess — a dream lady,” he added.

The worst part happened in 1997, around four months after Princess Diana died in a car crash. In a radio interview with Howard Stern, Trump said that he “could have” had sex with the late princess.

“Why do people think it’s egotistical of you to say you could’ve gotten with Lady Di? You could’ve gotten her, right? You could’ve nailed her?” Stern asked Trump. “I think I could have,” Trump responded.

Trump Defends A Paparazzo Instead Of Kate Middleton

When Prince William and Kate were vacationing in the south of France in 2012, a paparazzo was able to capture topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge while she was sunbathing. The paparazzo then sold the pictures to the magazine Close, which then had them published.

Public outcry ensued as it was clearly an invasion of the duchess’ privacy. The court ruled in favor of William and Kate, and the paparazzo was even ordered to pay €100,000 in damages.

Surprisingly, Donald Trump’s opinion is opposite to that of the French court and the public. According to his line of thinking, it was Kate’s fault in the first place.

“Kate Middleton is great — but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude — only herself to blame,” Trump tweeted on Sept. 18, 2012. “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!” he posted another message a minute after the first.

British Royal Family Fans React

Royal family fans were just biding for the perfect time to unleash their anger toward Trump. This opportunity arrived in 2018, when it was announced that Trump, who was already the POTUS, will be visiting the United Kingdom.

“Donald Trump’s well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales,” people petitioned the Parliament to bar the meeting. The movement quickly garnered more than 1.8 million signatures, showing just how unpopular Trump was at that moment.
