'Yago' Telenovela Returns
Iván Sánchez stars in "Yago." Televisa

Univision gave "Yago" a second chance in primetime after it was initially reported the series was moving to UniMás following record low numbers. It is apparent that the Iván Sánchez-starrer continued on the downward trend and the Spanish-language network is going to ship the production to its sister network. On Monday, June 27, "Yago" will be moving to UniMás and air at 12 midnight. Its spot will be occupied by the bio series "Por Siempre Joan Sebastian," which will tell the story of "El Rey Del Jaripeo" who passed away last year.

"Yago" initially premiered on Monday, May 2 on Univision and it always seemed to struggle finding an audience following the finale of "Pasión y Poder." The network stuck by it but the ratings did not improve and continued on a downward spiral. "Tres Veces Ana" was supposed to premiere at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on May 23, but over the course of the month, it switched the time to 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. The broadcaster promoted a two-hour premiere night event, without acknowledging the faith of "Yago." It was believed that the series would take the 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT time slot that was originally slated for "Tres Veces Ana."

As the May 23 date approached, programming guides showed that "A Que No Me Dejas" would air at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT, but what about "Yago?" At this time, Univision had not promoted the new telenovela, but upon further investigation, "Yago" turned up on sister network UniMás at midnight on May 23. As fans learned about the news, the pressured the broadcaster and we want to think that they heard viewers concerns.

During the "El Hotel De Los Secretos" finale, the network announced that "Yago" was only taking a one week break to make way for "Tres Veces Ana." During its premiere week the Angelique Boyer starrer aired double episodes and "Yago" returned at the 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT slot on May 30. Less than a month from its return, programming executives seem to not be happy with "Yago's" audience numbers and will be making the move.
