Back in 2013, Grande said she hoped her career would take off as Gomez’s career had. Fast forward to 2019, she toppled Gomez as the most followed woman on Instagram with 146 million followers, showing the world how far she’s come as a singer and that six years since that interview, she is now the brighter star. Here are the reasons why Grande has shone brighter than Gomez today, according to fans:

1. She has better vocal abilities. When it comes to singing technique, Grande is the better vocalist, having a four-octave vocal range. She also has a good musical ear and does not depend on electronic harmonization for her live gigs.

2. She is more experienced. Gomez debuted as a singer when she became part of “Wizards Of Waverly Place,” but Grande started to sing in Broadway when she was still so much younger.

3. She is a trendsetter. When it comes to style, Grande is undeniably a trendsetter. Her high ponytails, fondly called “Aritail,” and makeup style are hers and hers alone. Grande often rocks her mini-dresses during her concerts and oversized sweatshirts and knee-high boots on her ordinary days — combos that pretty much complement her cute frame.

4. She has a good sense of humor. Grande always sprinkles her concerts with humor, making each one of her performances a more delightful experience for her fans.

5. She pours her heart into her songs and music videos. Both Gomez and Grande are good songwriters, but Grande is great at pouring out her heart into her compositions. Fans can see her heart in her music videos, too, and “Thank U, Next” is proof of that.

6. She knows how to value her fans. When her Manchester concert was bombed, Grande was so heartbroken, and she decided to pay for the funerals of each of her fans who died.

7. She is a hardworker. Since she started her career, Grande has never stopped performing. She still performs even when she feels depressed because singing heals her. Gomez, on the other hand, steps in and out of the limelight.
