Zoe Saldana is spending her 38th birthday in good company and in Cuba! Although her boys did not tag along, Saldana, who recently turned 38 years old on June 19, feels very happy to be visiting the Caribbean island.

The half-Dominican and half-Puerto Rican actress is visiting Cuba for the first time thanks to People En Español, who invited Saldana to be in an upcoming cover of the magazine. This is also the first time People en Español will have a photo shoot in the island. Editor-in-chief Armando Correa, Creative Director Herman Vega and Fashion and Beauty Director Ursula Carranza, along with photographer Omar Cruz, are all joining Saldana in her journey.

Saldana, according to the magazine, arrived in Havana on Sunday following her birthday. There, the entire team greeted the actress and even celebrated her big day with a cake. A video posted on Instagram by Correa captured the sweet moment, where Saldana also sang the Dominican birthday chant.

"It's a dream come true to be here in Cuba," expressed the actress to People en Español. "All my life I've been in love with Cuba and have respected the Cuban culture. To finally be here and walk the streets with the Cubans who live here is a gift that I will never take for granted," she added.

In her trip, Saldana will model clothing from reputed Hispanic designers such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Angel Sanchez and Oscar Carvallo.

We wonder if her upcoming flick inspired the photo shoot. After starring roles in movies such as "Avatar," "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Star Trek," Saldana will portray a Cuban woman from the 1920s in her upcoming film "Live By Night" starring Ben Affleck. The film is expected to launch October 2017. Saldana has yet to share her first photos of the trip, but in the meantime, check out what the rest of team has been sharing by clicking here!
