A 9-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her gun instructor, 39-year-old Charles Vacca, when she fired an Uzi submachine gun at full auto. The parents of the nine-year-old girl captured the shocking moment on video, and Mohave county police have released a 22-second clip that reveals everything up to the moment the girl loses control of the weapon.

The horrifying incident occurred Monday morning at the Bullets and Burgers shooting range located in White Hills, Arizona. The girl and her parents are from New Jersey and was at the Arizona shouting range as a stop during their vacation. Charles Vacca was assisting the little girl on handling an Uzi submachine gun at the shooting range.

Vacca first switches the Uzi in single-shot mode to teach the nine-year-old how to handle the weapon. The little girl was told to hold the weapon with both hands at all times and to take a perpendicular stance at the target. After she had successfully fired several single-fire shots from the Uzi, Vacca then switches the Uzi submachine gun to full-auto and advises her to adjust her stance before firing the rounds. Unfortunately, the recoil of the full-auto discharge causes the weapon to go over her head. Bullets strike Vacca in the head. Vacca was promptly airlifted to the hospital following the incident. Unfortunately, Vacca died Monday evening from the serious injuries.

"The guy just dropped," Mohave County Sheriff Jim McCabe said. Vacca who suffered more than one gunshot to the head. McCabe told Las Vegas Review Journal that there will be no charges filed as Bullets and Burgers is a licensed and legal operation.

"We really don't know what happened. Our guys are trained to basically hover over people when they're shooting. If they're shooting right-handed, we have our right-hand behind them ready to push the weapon out of the way. And if they're left-handed, the same thing," said Bullets and Burgers operator Sam Scarmardo.

Unfortunately, not knowing what happened is no excuse for the death of Charles Vacca. Vacca was an army veteran and a married father, and his death is a tremendous loss to his friends and family. Vacca and his best friend, Robert Vera, served in the army together. Vera described Charles Vacca as a brother and a major part of his life through thick and thin. Another friend adds that Vacca will always be remembered with "a smile and admiration."

"It's so easy for us to go back and look at something that's very tragic and say, 'Boy! Why did that occur? That should not have happened because of,'" said McCabe to Fox News. "Well, maybe from now on, that 'because of' will be in place."
