Alejandro Fernández has had enough with all the fake stories gossip magazines make up to attract readers.

On Tuesday, “El Potrillo” opened up about the accident that sent him to the hospital a couple of weeks ago and expressed his anger towards tabloids, TVnotas specifically, for lying about the origin of his injury.

“When I get the chance, I will try to talk to the President,” said the 45-year-old singer. “Or whoever I can talk to…to find out what needs to be done to regulate certain things that the media and yellow journalists sometimes post, which can destroy your life, your name, and your reputation.”

The “Como Quien Pierde A Una Estrella” performer was referring to an article that was published on Mexican tabloid TVnotas on June 7 under the following headline, “Alejandro Fernández with severe infection, it wasn’t his dog…he was bitten by a jaguar.”

After the false news broke, the Guadalajara native released a press statement in which he admitted he was bitten, but not by a wild feline.

“They say a dog is a man’s best friend and my dogs are my greatest treasures, they are my family,” said Fernández. “I am aware that ‘Kush’s’ [his dog] bite was an accident, we were playing. I love my dogs and I want to give them all the best.”

On June 7, Vicente Fernández’s son posted an adorable photo next to “the jaguar.”

“Who told you I was a jaguar?” he captioned. “Well, I say I’m a bear! Hahaha #lies #realstories #costaalegre”

Fernández is reportedly on his way to full recovery but according to his management company, Star Productions, the consequences of what looked like “just another dog bite” could have been fatal if Fernández had waited any longer to seek for professional help.

The performer was forced to cancel a few concert dates due to the accident but according to his Twitter account, @alexoficial, he was able to perform in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, last week and is heading to San Juan Del Río, Querétaro, this weekend.
