Longoria 'I was not eating': Eva's Post-Divorce Eating Disorder

Friday's episode of "The Dr. Oz Show," has Eva Longoria talking about her weight loss after splitting in 2010 with her then-husband Tony Parker.

The 38-year-old actress told Dr.Oz that she lost tons of weight because she stopped eating.

"I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee," Longoria explains.

"People kept saying, 'You look amazing. Divorce agrees with you,'" she recalls. "And I was like, 'I don't feel good. I have no energy.' I didn't know I was depressed. I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed."

The change in her diet resulted in an iron deficiency, an overacting liver, and other problems. Longoria discloses that she had to saturate her body with vitamins to get back to her normal self.

"I was just depleted of every vitamin," Longoria recalled. "He said it's as if somebody took a straw and sucked everything out of your body. 'You don't have any iron and your liver's overacting.' It was like all these things were physically wrong with my body, so I had to saturate with vitamins and kind of get back on this track."

Her new healthy diet included a strict regimen of cutting out sugar and shares that it helped her have more energy.

"I cut out all sugar. Anything that turns into sugar is sugar. I love a soda, I'm not a chocolate candy person, but, I like pasta in anything," Longoria said. "For about three months, I did a really strict no sugar diet, and I had more energy than I've ever had. My palate was different. Things tasted better."

The Desperate Housewife told Health Magazine:

"People think health only has to do with your physical being, but for me, it's so much more," said the Desperate Housewife to Health Magazine. "I remember after my divorce, I was so thin and everyone kept saying how great I looked and it was probably the most unhealthy place I've ever been. So it was funny what people would see as "healthy."
